As a picture paints a thousand words…
We have loads of photographs, and a broad selection of
them is displayed on this page. The photographs at
the top are the most recent ones, and those at the
bottom date back to 2017 when we bought the
property. We have included the older photographs
because the open-plan layout of the top floor (including
open-plan WC!) show more clearly the lovely oak
morticed and pegged roof structure.

The garden
The garden is opposite the house. There is enough
space for two or three cars with a grassed area to the
rear.
The surrounding shrubs were severely pruned in 2024.
We have done a lot of work to the property, including
formation of a number of rooms on the top floor,
insertion of five rooflights, installation of new bathroom,
and insulation and replastering of walls and ceilings.
The narrow room was designated a “work from home”
office, not really a bedroom.
The Interior photographs are all recent, taken in
February 2026. The sequence travels through
the building, namely: kitchen/dining room,
living room, WC, stairs up to top floor, landing,
master bedroom, bathroom, guest bedroom,
study, stairs down two floors, garage/cellar,
annex living room, annex kitchen, annex WC.
The annex is attached to the main property. To
access this from the main house we have had a
doorway knocked through. The annex could be
converted to a separate dwelling independent
from the main house. It has a toilet, but no
shower/bath. We started to remove the badly-
fixed studwork, and were planning to expose
the covered-up windows.

Update on the basement and annex
(as 20/01/2026)
The annex has now been cleared of builders’ waste.
We would like to thank Stick and Stone (Vikki and Tony) for their stirling effort. We would thoroughly
recommend them to the successful purchaser, not just for rubble removal.
The pile of stones in the garage/basement were saved in case they could be utilised in the garden.
Update as of 26/01/2026
As a result of a viewing in late-January 2026, we have been informed that, because there has been little to no maintenance and no
habitation of the property in the last few years, it has suffered some degradation, namely:
- there has been a vermin infestation at some point
- at top floor level, there is some water damage to the house upstairs, which enters through from the main roof (”velux” window
flashings?)
- at basement level, the door opening between the house and annex has no lintel.
Thank you to Chris and Annie for this update.
We remain of the opinion that a competent DIYer should be able to fix these faults (we could if we were there, but we have had
plenty of hands-on experience converting our Listed barn). We simply wish to draw your attention to them and to be completely
transparent.
